We take great pride in having curated, designed, and manufactured a legendary collaboration as part of the "Made in LA" series by California Locos, partnering with one of the most renowned artists in Southern California and around the world, Mister Cartoon. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mister Cartoon's expressive art style is globally recognized, encapsulating the authentic essence of Los Angeles street culture. His intricately detailed, hand-rendered designs draw inspiration from the tattoo styles that first emerged on the tough streets of 1970s Los Angeles, featuring fine line work, black and grey shading, and a gritty yet soulful aesthetic.

The collaboration between the LA Rams, Ball Corp, and California Locos was masterfully curated by Creative Director Nano Nobrega, uniting legacy artists with the team's devoted Los Angeles fan base. The project celebrates Southern California through bold, timeless imagery, highlighting sustainability using Ball's recyclable aluminum cups as a canvas.

Nano Nobrega curated the LA Rams commemorative cup, blending team colors, gold and blue, with the essence of each artist's work. Intricate details from their iconic pieces shine through, including a special tribute to MVP player Cooper Kupp. The release of these cups during the Super Bowl was met with tremendous success. This triumph was followed by the remarkable victory and title win for the LA Rams in 2022.

One of our classic collaborations, we teamed up with guitarist and founding band member, Robby Krieger, to pay homage to one of California's most legendary rock and roll groups, The Doors. Robby, a passionate skateboarding enthusiast, collaborated directly with our creative director, Nano Nóbrega, to curate this one-of-a-kind collection that will undoubtedly become one of our favorites collectibles.

Rick Griffin, an iconic figure in the world of art, transcended the boundaries of good and great to become a legend. Hailing from Southern California, he is revered as one of the original 'surf artists,' deeply rooted in the unique tapestry of Cholo, Lowrider, Surf, and Rock cultures of the 70s. Griffin's artistic influence resonates profoundly in the parallel realms of Surf and Rock, from the beloved Surfer's magazine character "Murph the Surf" to iconic creations like the Rolling Stone magazine logo and posters featuring legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, and the surf classic, Pacific Vibrations.

It's our privilege to have curated, designed, and meticulously crafted this exclusive limited collection. From conceptualizing and crafting t-shirts from the ground up, including the minutest cut and sew details, labels, and tags, to fashioning each unique apparel piece and skateboard. We've spared no effort in developing custom packaging with elements like authenticity certificates. Every facet of this collection, from photoshoots to overseeing production and imports of hardgoods, bore the watchful eyes and deft skills of Nano Nobrega. The result is a collaboration that stands as one of our most comprehensive and high-end achievements to date.

The Renaissance & Rebellion book is a comprehensive compendium that documents the first decade of the California Locos, a cultural collective redefining the essence of California artistry. Creative Director Nano Nóbrega was invited to curate this monumental 432-page tome, which brings together numerous art writers, hundreds of talented photographers, and several artists. The task at hand was to weave together a decade's worth of history within Southern California's subcultures, showcasing art exhibitions, the evolution of the California Locos brand, and pivotal events that shaped the LOCOS' journey. This year-long intensive endeavor was no small undertaking, but the outcome is a captivating coffee table book that firmly etches the indelible impact of the LOCOS on the intricate landscape of Southern California's subcultures.

Encompassing three generations of legendary LA artists and drawing upon over four decades of LA culture, this book proudly presents a remarkable collection of 702 color and 125 black-and-white illustrations. Printed in Rome by DRAGO Publisher, the book showcases a cover art masterpiece by LA's renowned artist, Mister Cartoon. Its exquisite matte finish, complemented by gold foil details, renders this book a true masterpiece in itself.

Established in the 1960s as a surfboard label, Ocean Pacific expanded in 1972 to cater to surfers' clothing needs. It swiftly became an emblem of surf culture and beach style, pioneering the "West Coast lifestyle" and uniting youth culture by linking surfing with music, skateboarding, motocross, BMX, and snowboarding. As the original "action sports" brand, Ocean Pacific played a pivotal role in shaping this cultural movement.

Fifty years later, creative director Nano Nóbrega was personally invited to reintroduce the brand, blending old-school heritage with a Venice Beach surf-grunge aesthetic. Under Nano's guidance, a comprehensive collection of Softgoods, Hardgoods, and accessories was created, resulting in a lively beach-inspired yet urban campaign that propelled the brand globally.

In an electrifying collaboration, Creative Director Nano Nobrega teams up with the celebrated photographer Sasha Eisenman to orchestrate a dazzling fusion of fashion, skateboarding, and sensuality for the legendary pages of Playboy Magazine. Set against the backdrop of the iconic Pink Motel skate spot, this shoot pushes the boundaries of artistic expression and athleticism. Featuring a captivating ensemble of stunning models and fearless female skaters, the images capture the raw spirit of the skateboarding world and the daring allure of those who embrace it, blurring the lines between fashion, art, and rebellion in a thrilling visual spectacle.
